Servette FC

SERVETTE FOOTBALL CLUB

Since September 30th 2008, Mr. Pishyar is the new president of the Servette FC. Mr.Pishyar is aiming to bring Servette back to the Super League and is determined to reach its objective.

 

Founded in 1890, Servette FC is a Swiss football club, based in Geneva. Servette was the leading club in French speaking Switzerland, having won 17 Swiss league championships and seven Swiss cups. The club was also winner of the Torneo Internazionale Stampa Sportiva, one of the very first international football competitions in the world, in 1908.

In 1930 Servette organized “la Coupe des Nations”, the predecessor of UEFA Champions League. In the 2003-04 season the club finished third in the Swiss Super League, the top league in Switzerland.

Servette-Wil (1-0) : 5596 spectators came to see Servette score 1 to 0 against Wil. The season is almost over and the team is reorganizing itself for the next season. Tréand has signed with Xamax, Kusunga is going to Basel, Bastos will stay and other new players will be announced shortly.

Kriens-Servette (1-0). Kriens wins thanks to a penalty and Esteban is injured. Although only 10 players where left on the field after the 22nd minute, Servette played remarkably well. One question is on everyone’s mind: why are the referees not applying the same rules for Servette then for the others? Next game Sunday against Vaduz.

Servette-Winterthour (2-1) : last Saturday, Servette won by making two goals to one thanks to Eudis. “It’s only the beginning. The beginning of a new story” writes the journalist. The second round starts with a beautiful victory: the new team (among which Fellipe Bastos, Eudis and Esteban) is ready to fight to reach the Super League. Next game Sunday in Locarno.
